Oh my goodness! To be honest it felt like I was holding my breath for 14 months…Whew! Seriously though, this pandemic has taken its toll, and I’ve personally had dear friends who had to deal with the virus, some very seriously. And knowing people around the world, there were a half dozen or so peopel that I knew who died from Covid-19. Extremely heartbreaking.
At the beginning of all of this in early 2020, pretty much my entire calendar of tour dates disappeared. We weathered the storm, stayed inside, wore masks and social-distanced. When they became available the family and I got the vaccine. During the ‘down time’ I wound up building a complete ‘Virtual Studio’ from scratch, and performed dozens of online “Zoom” shows for special events and company conferences, sales groups, awards banquets, etc. Though I was hesitant to do so at first, mostly because I LOVE performing ‘in person’, face-to-face, I quickly embraced the new medium and created several new magic pieces strictly for the new format. The audiences were wonderful!
It’s now JULY of 2021 and things are returning back to a somewhat ‘new normal’. I’m currently starring in “MASTERS OF ILLUSION – LIVE!” at Harrah’s Resorts in Atlantic City, alongside two other fantastic artists, Michel Turco (Illusionist), and strange-but-very-cool Dan Sperry. And we’re all having a blast, performing in the casino’s 1,600 seat theater. The crowds have been so much fun and everyone is enjoying “live theater” again!
With the incredible Gay Blackstone backstage between shows.
Working with Dan Sperry again! We’re like TWINS!! 🙂
We’re here thru Aug. 4th, for a total of 5 weeks, and then I have several other dates and appearances popping up on the schedule, including the Missouri State Fair, and my third time back to MN State Fair. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hi! My solo touring show will be coming to a corner of the world, hopefully near you, in a few months, as well!
I wish you all the best, and hope that you and your family and friends are safe and healthy. Please help pull each other up, especially during this time where some things are still unsure about the future. We’re all in this together! Cheers! 🙂
Harrah’s beautiful 1,600+ seat theater will be my ‘office’ for the next 5 weeks. 🙂
